The first Low-Altitude Economy Ecosystem Conference was successfully held today in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, drawing government officials, industry leaders, and innovators to explore the future of China’s booming low-altitude economy.
Organized by Ningbo Software Park and Skynomics (翼展速创), the event highlighted Ningbo’s ambition to become a national hub for low-altitude industries, including eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft, drones, urban air mobility, and supporting infrastructure.
Strategic Partnerships Launched During the conference, Ningbo Software Park Management Service Center and Ningbo Hefeng Industrial Park Group Co., Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreements with Skynomics. The partnerships aim to build a collaborative ecosystem platform that connects research, manufacturing, and application across the low-altitude sector.
Skynomics, a Forbes China “30 Under 30” project and official partner in the low-altitude economy field, officially announced its establishment and relocation to Ningbo Software Park. With a registered capital of US$2 million, the company brings extensive international resources and plans to drive technological innovation and global collaboration in the sector.
Why Ningbo? As one of China’s pilot cities for low-altitude airspace management reform and a national general aviation demonstration zone, Ningbo offers unique advantages: a strong manufacturing base, complete industrial chains, and favorable coastal geography. Local leaders emphasized that these strengths position the city to lead the rapid growth of the low-altitude economy.
Building a Complete Ecosystem The Ningbo High-Tech Zone presented its vision to create a thriving low-altitude industry cluster. By linking industrial chains with innovation chains, the zone aims to attract leading enterprises, foster cutting-edge applications, and accelerate commercialization.
“Ningbo is committed to building a world-class low-altitude economy ecosystem,” said a representative from Ningbo Software Park. “Today’s conference marks an important step toward integrating resources, promoting collaboration, and turning innovative ideas into real-world solutions.”
The conference concluded with optimistic outlook for Ningbo’s role in China’s low-altitude economy, an industry projected to become a trillion-yuan market in the coming years. Future events are planned for 2025 to further expand international cooperation and showcase new technologies.
